Important Information
Elite Energy events can be strenuous activities and therefore all participants must ensure that they are sufficiently fit, in good physical and mental health, and capable of participating in the Event without causing harm to themselves or others. We recommend you seek all necessary medical advice, recommendations and clearances before arriving at and participating in the event. Please also ensure you stay well hydrated in the days leading up to the event and throughout the course, apply sunscreen regularly, and take appropriate safety precautions on the day.
All participants must write their emergency contact details on the back of their race bib. This is a compulsory safety requirement.
Medical, Rules & Eligibility
Medical & Emergency Procedures
- Please write your emergency contact info on the back of your bib – it’s compulsory.
- Follow the instructions of staff, volunteers and medical teams at all times.
- If you need to withdraw from the race you MUST tell a race official. This is so we don’t go searching for you later!
Emergency+ App
We highly recommend that you download the ‘Emergency+’ app on your phone, which can provide exact coordinates of where you are for emergency services. These items are all mandatory, and for your own safety.
On Course Medical
- Medical will be available at the Finish Line and where possible, will be roaming around the course on foot, on bikes and in vehicles for emergencies.
- Each runner will have responsibility for their own wellbeing and basic first aid and should carry their own band-aids, blister/strapping tape, chafe cream, and sunscreen. Ensure you are aware of the effects of dehydration, hypothermia and extreme fatigue. If you do not feel you are not fit to continue, please withdraw from the race at the next aid station.
- If you pass an injured runner, please stop to assist them until an EE staff member or until someone from medical arrives, record how long you were stopped to assist and notify an EE staff member at the end of the event they will organise to adjust your time accordingly.

Mandatory Gear
All runners must carry mandatory gear during the race.
The mandatory gear list contains what we believe is the absolute minimum to keep you safe during the event and in South Gippsland’s unpredictable weather systems. If you would normally take something extra on a run of this duration, you should still take it.
Mandatory Gear lists for SRT 42km, 72km & 100km
The course passes through remote trails, where protection from the elements and medical/support services could be some time/distance from athletes needing assistance. For this reason, all athletes must carry the required mandatory gear at all times while on course.
To help reduce waste, this is a cupless event. Athletes are strongly encouraged to carry their own reusable cup, bottle or hydration vest for use at aid stations. We also recommend carrying sufficient water between checkpoints to ensure adequate hydration throughout the course.
NB: Bag checks will be conducted to ensure all mandatory gear is carried. Athletes who do not have the required items will not be permitted to start the race. Please see below for bag check times.
