Course Description

The SRT 100 is a scenic and iconic ultra journey along the Great Southern Rail Trail, taking runners from coast to country through the heart of South Gippsland.

Starting in Port Welshpool and finishing in Leongatha, the course follows a smooth, well-maintained rail trail along the historic railway corridor. Runners move through quiet countryside, rolling farmland and a series of charming rail towns, with heritage stations, bridges and trail markers offering a constant connection to the region’s railway past.

With gentle gradients and long, runnable sections, the course is built for rhythm and endurance. It rewards patience, consistency and smart pacing — making it ideal for experienced ultra runners and relay teams chasing a fast, uninterrupted run, as well as first-time 100km athletes looking for a supportive and achievable solo challenge, or those sharing the distance as a team.
